DESCRIPTION:Séminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n \nMatthieu Picault\n (IESEG School of Management\, France) \n  \nMarket disappointment with central bank announcements\nAuthors : Julien Pinter (Universidad de Alicante\, Departamento Fundamentos del Análisis Económico\, Spain) & \n \n \nAbstract : We construct an index of market disappointment caused by the content of central bank announcements for the Fed and the ECB by extracting market perceptions reported in leading financial newspapers. We document that disappointment is frequently reported\, mostly reflecting the market’s preference for a more accommodative policy stance. Disappointment distinctly impacts the market’s perception of the monetary policy rule\, depresses stock prices\, and raises volatility in the days after announcements. The reversal patterns found and additional analysis are consistent with an investor-sentiment channel. DESCRIPTION:La grande conférence d’économie\n  \n« L’économie mondiale : guerre et paix »\n  \nTable ronde \nanimée par les étudiants de CPGE du Lycée Montaigne et de l’Université de Bordeaux \n\nDepuis la fin de la guerre froide\, l’économie internationale a connue une phase de libéralisation et de mondialisation\, censée apporter non seulement la prospérité\, mais aussi la paix. Le « doux commerce »\, en augmentant les interdépendances entre les nations\, doit aussi dissuader les conflits armés. On assiste pourtant depuis une dizaine d’années à un retour de la guerre\, y compris sur le sol européen. Comment l’économie éclaire-t-elle les liens entre commerce et tensions internationales ? Existe-t-il une logique économique spécifique des conflits armés ? Enfin\, comment expliquer le retour actuel de l’impérialisme de conquête\, et celui-ci menace-t-il la mondialisation ? \nPour éclairer ces enjeux\, la Grande Conférence d’Economie organise une table ronde\, qui abordera les enjeux saillants\, tels que la rivalité Chine/ Etats-Unis\, la finitude des ressources terrestres\, et les nouvelles technologies de guerre. \n\nAvec la participation de : \n\nJean Belin (BxSE\, Université de Bordeaux) : L’économie de l’industrie globale de la défense\nBenjamin Bürbaumer (Sciences Po Bordeaux) : Chine/Etats-Unis.
