SUMMARY:Séminaire: Jérôme Héricourt (U. Paris-Saclay - U. Evry)
DESCRIPTION:Agenda > Tous les événements\nSéminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n\n \n\nJérôme Héricourt\nUniversité Paris-Saclay-Université d’Evry\, CEPS-EPEE\n\n \n\n \nThe collateral channel within and between countries\n(Auteurs: Jérôme Héricourt Jean Imbs Lise Patureau) \nAbstract \nWe examine the response of investment to real estate prices among French firms from 1994 to 2015. Using newly introduced methods and specifications\, we find that investment sensitivity to real estate prices decreases with firm size: The smallest firms are at least three times more responsive to changes in collateral value compared to the largest firms. We impute these estimates onto other countries where available data lack firm-level detail. This approach allows us to assess the aggregate sensitivity of investment to real estate prices across different countries. Our results indicate significant variation in the sensitivity of aggregate investment to real estate shocks\, driven by cross-country differences in the size distribution of firms. \n  \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire: Adrien Bouguen (Santa Clara University\, CA)
DESCRIPTION:Séminaire BSE – programme 3\n  \nAdrien Bouguen\n(Santa Clara University\, CA) \n  \n\n\n\nBeyond Poverty Reduction: Evidence from a Multifaceted Program on Poverty\, Nutrition and Child Development\nBy Adrien Bouguen and Andrew Dillon∗ \nWe study the impacts of a multifaceted program implemented in Burkina Faso that targets ultra-poor households with young chil- dren or pregnant women. The design includes a cash transfer pro- gram (T1)\, T1 plus animal transfer (T2) and T2 plus a nutrition- focused program (T3). We find that the program reduces extreme poverty in all treatment branches\, but only T3 positively impacts child nutrition and anthropometrics measures. Besides\, only the T3 branch impacts motor and cognitive development of new born children. Our results suggest that while transfer programs are ef- fective at reducing poverty\, nutritionally focused programs are nec- essary to trigger a cognitive response. \n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire: Sébastien Desbureaux (INRAE)
DESCRIPTION:Séminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \nSébastien Desbureaux\n(INRAE) \n  \nKeeping Gorillas in the Mist: The Environmental Economics of Accelerating the Adoption of Clean Cooking\n  \nAbstract: Wood fuel remains the main cooking fuel for one third of humanity\, with important negative consequences for forests\, wildlife\, and climate change. As access to electricity is steadily increasing\, our randomized control trial (n=1500) asks whether new generations of efficient cookers can be promoted\, studies the impact of adopting them\, and mechanisms to promote their adoption. The study takes place in the rapidly growing city of Goma\, Democratic Republic of the Congo\, where charcoal consumption threatens the protected habitats of thousands of species living in Virunga National Park\, including Mountain Gorillas. Our results show that fully subsidizing the initial purchase of an Electric Pressure Cooker (80$)  to the clients of an electricity providers leads to a triple win: $360 savings on cooking for households;  $115 extra earnings from electricity consumption for the electricity provider; 7.5tCO2eq reduced over the 5-year EPC life span per cooker;  and 1 ha of forest saved for each 29 cookers distributed. We further find that subsidizing electricity price and environmental messaging campaigns targeting users further increases usage of the cooker. Our results suggest attaining the goal of affordable and clean cooking for all can be promoted through environmental policies and vertical integration of firms. \n  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n  \n  \n>> Pour suivre ce séminaire sur Zoom\, contactez julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire: Andreea Madalina Bojan & Emil Adrian Bancu
DESCRIPTION:Séminaire BSE\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAndreea Madalina Bojan \n– third year PhD Student within Doctoral School of Accounting\, Bucharest University of Economic Studies\, Romania –\n(topic: Research on corporate governance and the use of impression management techniques in corporate reporting)\n \nDisclose or not disclose? An investigation into the relationship between corporate governance mechanisms and impression management in sustainability reporting\nAbstract: The main purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between corporate governance mechanisms\, in terms of specific governance scores\, and the tendency to use impression management techniques in sustainability reporting\, measured by several aspects\, such as the level of optimism\, positive words\, and negative words. Analysis includes several control variables to examine the influence at the company level. The research hypotheses are tested using a sample consisting of companies from Eastern European geographical area\, and non-financial industries. The analysed time frame is the period between 2022 and 2023. Regression models estimated for panel data\, using random-effects are applied. The findings draw a clear picture of the impact exerted by corporate governance mechanisms on impression management\, demonstrating that governance\, management and shareholders scores have a positive influence on the level of optimism\, while positive and negative words exposed in sustainability reporting are significantly influenced by management and CSR strategy scores. Results summary may have implications for business and academic environments. Thus\, company’s representatives could be interested in which practices of corporate governance may apply in order to avoid and anticipate the impression management tendency\, while for academics\, this study represents a basis in terms of pre-sent and future research.\n \n————-\n Emil Adrian Bancu\n– third year PhD Student within Doctoral School of Accounting\, Bucharest University of Economic Studies\, Romania –\n(topic: Identifying the influences\, constrains\, and motivational aspects of business to support sustainable activities)\nSustainability and Strategic Decision-Making: A Questionnaire Addressed to the Companies Listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n>> Agenda > Tous les événements

DESCRIPTION:Agenda > Tous les événements\nSéminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \n\n \n\nLiudmila Alekseeva\n(KU Leuven) \n  \n“Not in Style: Matching and Gender Gap in VC Investing”\n  \nThis paper examines the extent to which the matching between startups and venture capitalists’ investment styles accounts for financing disparities between female-and male-founded companies. Analyzing initial venture capital (VC) rounds for comparable founders and startups\, the study documents that the gender financing gap can be attributed to the sorting of female-founded ventures into VCs with smaller investment cheques\, as large-cheque investors are less likely to fund « typical female-founded » startups. The findings suggest that the lower predicted growth prospects of such businesses may contribute to their mismatch with large-cheque VC investors. \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 1 / BSE –\n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n  \n

It employs a variational inequality approach within a multi-criteria decision-making framework. The theoretical findings are validated through numerical simulations using a neural network-based machine learning algorithm. They conclusively demonstrate the potential to not only achieve but also surpass objectives related to carbon and biodiversity neutrality targets. This study underscores the effectiveness of combining market valorisation of environmental services with government subsidies for ecological transitions as a powerful strategy to significantly reduce the global ecological footprint. It also demonstrates the absence of crowding-out effects between public and private agents. It shows that actors within the supply chain are inclined to intensify their offsets towards achieving environmental neutrality if they are initially compensated for their efforts to mitigate their environmental impacts.\n  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 2 / BSE –\n \n \n  \n  \n \n \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire doctorant: Thomas Bézy (PSE)
DESCRIPTION:Séminaire doctorant\n  \nThomas Bézy\n(PSE) \n  \n\n« Who’s your landlord? Assortative matching and heterogeneous returns in rental markets »\nAbstract: \nHousing returns exhibit a high degree of unexplained heterogeneity across units. Using a nationwide data set containing administrative information on linked renters and owners for 4.5 million private rental dwellings in France\, we document heterogeneous returns on the rental market across levels of landlord income. By including landlords’ characteristics\, we are able to explain 90% of the heterogeneity in rental returns. In addition\, we find that high-income landlords invest in locations with lower rental returns and lower non-payment risk. As they also invest in locations with higher price appreciation\, gross total returns are relatively flat along the income distribution. We explain these findings by a novel theory of rental housing assignment\, implying assortative matching between tenants’ and landlords’ incomes. These results have implications for the measurement of inequality and the incidence of housing market policies. \n  \n\n \nAgenda > Tous les événements\n \n \n \n \n  \n  \n \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire: Francesca Artioli (UPEC-UGE\, Ecole d'Urbanisme de Paris)

DESCRIPTION:Séminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \nSteeve Stillman\n(Free University of Bozen-Bolzanoi) \n  \nStrategic Use of Social Media by Political Parties: Evidence from Italy\n  \nWe investigate how politicians in Italy strategically use news events and political communication to increase their support in the electorate. Using machine-learning techniques\, we extract events about immigration and the economy from newswires. We then test a causal chain connecting events\, online political communication\, salience of particular cleavages\, and support for parties measured with individual voting intentions data\, with a specific focus on communication by populist anti-immigration politicians. We identify the impact of communication on polls by leveraging high-frequency communication data and variation in the 4G exposure of Italian municipalities as a shock to the accessibility of political communication online. In addition\, we measure the relevance of such effects in explaining support for parties by calibrating a structural model of political competition informed by the relationships uncovered by our reduced-form analysis. We use the model to evaluate (i) a counterfactual scenario where political parties compete in the absence of communication events\, and (ii) where parties cannot affect migration salience with communication. Comparing these counterfactual scenarios to the baseline support for anti-immigration parties\, we show that immigration communication has a much larger importance than immigration events in explaining the support for these parties.ns \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n

DESCRIPTION: \nSéminaire BSE – programme 3\n  \nMarie Boltz\n(Université de Strasbourg) \n  \nBridging the Gap: Misperceived gender norms and intra-household demand for flexibility at work in Colombia\ncowritten with Ana Maria Diaz and Luz Magdelana Salas\n \nThis paper examines the influence of gender norms on work-family balance and the gender gap in labor force participation\, with a specific focus on the role of flexibility in working arrangements. We investigate how these norms are sustained within households and explore the decision-making process surrounding the willingness to accept flexible jobs. We propose a study design that combines survey data and a discrete choice experiment (DCE) to capture couples’ beliefs and preferences regarding flexible working arrangements at the couple level. Our findings indicate a strong preference for hybrid work\, with gender differences and variations influenced by factors such as childcare responsibilities\, employment status\, income\, and pluralistic ignorance. \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n \n \n  \n

To understand why and how\, we use a novel micro-level dataset of 6\,247 robo-advisor clients who made 9\,250 changes to their investment portfolios between 2015 and 2022. Micro-level demographic and financial variables as well as macro-level market returns and volatility are factors in the decision to change one’s passively managed portfolio. In addition\, how these changes affected investors’ returns are studied. A counterfactual test showed that on average accounts which adjusted their portfolio allocation outperformed identical hypothetical accounts in which no changes were made\, but this result was not replicated in the field using a more constrained dataset including only realized gains (i.e.\, closed accounts). \n\n  \n \n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n

We ask whether Islamic radicalization and related violence can be countered through campaigning by local religious organizations. We follow a campaign against violence in the province of Cabo Delgado\, Mozambique\, a setting that has seen a recent violent insurgency. The campaign focused on the key message that religion is not violent. It was broadcasted through community radios and individual voice messages sent to cell phones. We measure the impact of the campaign on violent events\, various behavioral measures including anti-social behavior and trust\, as well as survey attitudes. We find that the campaign decreased the incidence of violent events in the province. In addition\, although it decreased radical attitudes\, it also increased fear. Our evidence suggests that involving local religious organizations can be central to counter violent Islamic radicalization. \n \n \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE -`\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Agenda > Tous les événements\nSéminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \nSarah Parlane \nUniversity College Dublin \n  \nA rationale for political disengagement\nJohan A. Dornschneider-Elkink\, Sarah Parlane\, Thomas Sattler \n  \nAbstract: This paper provides a theoretical understanding of political engagement which rests upon a rational choice theory. Citizens can participate in a referendum over two options which are horizontally differentiated on a policy space. The citizens are risk averse and imperfectly informed about the exact political implications associated with each option presented to them. Each has an ideal point on the policy space capturing their intrinsic political preference. During a campaign\, a signal that is non-negatively correlated with each option’s true political implications becomes freely available. We capture political disengagement as a voluntary decision to ignore the information that will be released during the campaign. By opposition\, engaged citizens follow the campaign and learn the signal. We show that disengagement on behalf of all citizens arises in equilibrium if the outcome of the referendum does not depend on the signal. When the outcome of the referendum depends on the signal that is revealed\, two equilibria can arise. When the uncertainty surrounding both options is relatively similar\, all citizens engage. When one option is relatively more uncertain than the other some individuals\, characterized by extreme political ideologies\, decide to disengage as they accurately anticipate that\, should their preferred option be the outcome of the vote\, its political implications will not be as extreme as they would like them to be. We provide some empirical support for our results using survey data on the 2016 ‘Brexit’ referendum. \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 2 / BSE –\n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Séminaire doctorant\n  \nBeka Lomidze\n(BSE)\n  \n« Gone with the wind? Climate shocks\, insurance demand & wellbeing »\n  \nNatural hazards are becoming more frequent and more intense\, presenting new challenges for climate insurances. Existing evidence tends to focus on experimental studies or the short-run impact of actual disasters. We utilize original survey data on a sample of Swedish forest owners interviewed three years after Gudrun\, the ‘storm of the century’\, which caused extensive damages to Southern Swedish forest in January 2005. We first document the timing of insurance take-up in response to hurricane occurrence over fifty years\, then focus on the middle/long run response to Gudrun. We exploit the quasi-random spatial nature of the shock while conditioning on forest types obtained from remote-sensed data. Our empirical analysis shows evidence of a persistence effect of actual damages on insurance demand. It is consistent with a long-term impact on subjective well-being\, which may be due to capital destruction\, non-pecuniary losses and fear. This welfare impact is partly mitigated by owners’ insurance holding. \n \nAgenda > Tous les événements\n \n \n \n \n  \n  \n \n \n  \n

Despite this\, sending remittances remains relatively costly. Policymakers have argued that fintech\, specifically\, comparison websites like kayak.com but for sending money\, can boost financial inclusion and reduce remittance prices. Yet\, little is known about how a key segment of consumers — migrants with limited (financial) education and trust in digital methods — interacts with fintech. We collaborate with a World Bank certified comparison website to conduct a field experiment among Central American migrants. We vary remittance-company attributes shown to migrants on a comparison website\, specifically\, the time to delivery and customer reviews\, to assess the potential for fintech to impact their choices. We use visual attention data to assess the information-processing mechanisms that lead to such choices. Our findings are as follows. First\, migrants are more likely to « experiment » with companies when shown prior customer reviews than delivery speed. Second\, they respond to information as expected by choosing companies that are better reviewed and faster. Third\, we cannot rule out that  experimentation is welfare-reducing: those with a preference for lower fees (or faster companies) end up choosing pricier (or slower) companies when shown more information. Finally\, these effects are more pronounced for migrants with low financial literacy and no prior awareness of fintech. The findings paint a nuanced picture of the potential for fintech to improve financial inclusion and consumer welfare among this demographic.\n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Séminaire organisé par le GPR HOPE  et le programme 3 – BSE \n  \n\nRémi Baziller\nUniversité Paris 1 \n\n  \nMinimum Wage Shocks\, Firms and Employment: Evidence from Africa\nAlthough African countries are increasingly using minimum wage policies to fight poverty\, research on minimum wages in Africa remains scarce. This paper addresses this gap by examining the economic impact of minimum wage shocks on firms across the African continent\, using firm-level data from the World Bank Enterprise Surveys. We discuss different minimum wage systems and document a simple fact: all but 4 African countries have some form of minimum wage. We document the evolution of minimum wages and identify different minimum wage shocks\, defined as a +30% increase in the minimum wage in constant prices. Over the period 2002-202\, we identify 14 shocks in 12 countries. We then propose a difference-in-differences approach to identify the causal effects of minimum wage shocks on labour costs per worker\, employment\, sales and labour productivity. To deal with the potential endogeneity of minimum wage shocks\, we also propose an IV strategy using the intensity of social protests as an instrument. We find that minimum wage shocks have a significant impact on labour costs per worker\, indicating at least some enforcement of minimum wage regulations. However\, we do not find robust effects on employment. Such an increase in labour costs appears to be offset to some extent by an increase in sales or labour productivity. The effects are much stronger for panel firms that are positively selected\, suggesting a potential cleansing effect of minimum wages. We then discuss the potential mechanisms at work by looking at the heterogeneous effects by firm size and sector. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nAgenda > Tous les événements\n  \n  \n  \n

We use the introduction of direct airlines connections between Chinese localities and international countries as an exogenous source of change in face-to-face interactions over the period 1992-2019. Our difference-in-difference results show the introduction of a direct weekly flight between a Chinese province and an international country raises trade by 5%. The impact is consistently more pronounced in the 1990s\, where other nonpersonal means of information transmission was less developed and for products with higher face-to-face communication requirements. The positive effect on trade is also greater for products that are more intensive in face-to-face interactions suggesting the importance of informational barriers to trade.

DESCRIPTION:Agenda > Tous les événements\nSéminaire BSE – programme 4 \n  \nAntoine Pietri\n(CEE\, Université de Montpellier) \n \n \n\n« Tullock contESSt in the lab »\nGuillaume Cheikbossian (CEE-M\, Univ Montpellier) et Antoine Pietri (CEE-M\, Univ Montpellier)\n\n \n \n \n\nAbstract : This project aims at understanding whether individuals are affected by evolutionary forces when making decisions in a two-player Tullock contest. Indeed\, the experimental literature shows that contestants almost systematically invest more effort in the contest than predicted by the Nash equilibrium. One possible explanation is that there are evolutionary forces that induce people to beat the others\, resulting in overbidding compared to the Nash prediction. However\, testing the predictions of evolutionary game theory requires a very long-time horizon\, which is very difficult to implement in the lab. Therefore\, we propose an experimental design that — we believe — can help us to understand if evolutionary forces impact participants’ decisions. To do so\, we start from the « evolutionary » vision in which an equilibrium is evolutionary stable if the introduction of a new strategy (called mutant strategy) into a finite population does not change the equilibrium of the game. Thus\, we expose participants of a traditional two-player contest experiment to mutant\, i.e. some of them  have their decision dictated by the experimenter. Observing the reaction of participants to the invasion of « mutants » allows us to understand how evolutionary forces influence the decision-making process of individuals. Our results — prudently —  point that the concept of evolutionary stable strategy is not a potential justification for the fact that subjects in a two-player contest experiment tend to invest too much effort in the contest\, compared to the Nash equilibrium prediction. We believe that this non-significant result adds insight to the literature.\n\n  \n  \n \n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n

Unintended effects of targeted LPG subsidies in Peru”\n  \nAbstract: Gas stoves are promoted as clean cooking technologies in developing countries despite the fact that they emit pollutants which are hazardous\, in particular for children. I study a nationwide gas stove program which aims to convert Peruvian households from wood-fuel cooking to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cooking. Using 16 waves of Peru’s Demographic and Health Survey\, I show that infant mortality increases by 15% on average as a result of the intervention. Subsidizing LPG also causes a higher incidence of symptoms of acute respiratory infections in under-5 children and of moderate or severe anemia among adult women. I provide suggestive evidence that these health impacts are due to an increase in total exposure to air pollutants and to unanticipated behavioral effects of the intervention. \n  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n>> Pour assister au séminaire sur Zoom\, contactez julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Agenda > Tous les événements\nSéminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \nJordana Viotto\n(University of Edinburgh Business School) \n  \n« Online community engagement and new venture performance: Evidence from GitHub » \n(en collaboration avec Diego Useche)\n  \nAbstract : The rise of online collaboration platforms reduced barriers to entry in entrepreneurship. In this paper\, we argue that engagement with communities in online collaboration platforms also contributes to firms’ performance. First\, the ability to reuse knowledge and elicit contributions from external audiences accelerates product development. Second\, the engagement with online communities provides credible information about the firms’ technological and market potential at a stage where they lack track record\, mitigating information asymmetries and supporting the acquisition of valuable connections with external partners. We test our hypotheses on firms that use GitHub\, one of the largest digital platforms for collaboration in software development. We find that firms that reuse more code and elicit more collaboration reach public-facing milestones faster. We also find that the extent to which firms attract developers to collaborate on their source code and to use their source code as a benchmark is positively correlated with the likelihood of receiving investment from venture capitalists. \n  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 1 / BSE –\n \n  \n>> pour assister au séminaire via Zoom\, contacter julie.vissaguet@u-bordeaux.fr \n \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Séminaire: S.Voigt et J. Gutmann (Insitute of Law and economics - University of Hamburg)
DESCRIPTION:Séminaire BSE – programme 3\n  \nS.Voigt et J. Gutmann\n(Insitute of Law and economics – University of Hamburg)\n  \n Once Upon a Time: Introducing the Historical Values Survey \nMahdi KHESALI (Institute of Law & Economics\, University of Hamburg and Max Planck Institute for Research Into Collective Goods\, Bonn\, Germany. Email: Mahdi.khesali@ile-hamburg.de )Stefan VOIGT (Institute of Law & Economics\, University of Hamburg and CESifo\, Munich\, Germany; Email: Stefan.Voigt@uni-hamburg.de )Nadia VON JACOBI (Department of Economics and Management\, University of Trento\, Italy; nadia.vonjacobi@unitn.it ) \n  \nValues and norms are important factors shaping how people interact. The values and norms held by individuals and shared among groups of individuals can have far-reaching consequences on economic and political development. Some of the values contemporaneously held by people across the globe are regularly collected by surveys such as the World Values Survey. Although it is often maintained that values and norms are largely time-invariant\, empirical evidence supporting that claim has been virtually non-existent as a dataset containing historically prevalent values and norms has been lacking.  \nThis article introduces such a dataset\, the Historical Values Survey (HistoVaS). Since we are interested in the potential relevance of values and norms for economic and political development\, the focus is on variables that have been shown to affect development. These include norms of cooperation\, altruism\, work ethic\, entrepreneurship\, tolerance and the relationship to authority. Norms of cooperation and altruism influence how people interact with each other\, work ethic norms are expected to (co-)determine productivity levels whereas norms encouraging entrepreneurship are likely to affect innovation rates and technological progress. We also report norms on how to cope with authority as norms favoring obedience to authorities are expected to be associated with more despotic political regimes.  \nThe HistoVaS introduced in this article uses folktales as its source of information. Folktales have been an important tool for transmitting values and norms across generations. This makes them ideal candidates for inferring historically valid values 2  \nand norms across the world. To produce the HistoVaS\, we have relied on some 16\,000 folktales from 136 countries. These countries represent approximately 95 percent of the world population. Combined with a survey instrument containing 76 variables\, the folktales were fed to GPT\, which produced replies for each folktale separately. The HistoVaS database is based on such replies.  \nTo illustrate the potential usefulness of the HistoVaS\, we associate data on historical values with contemporaneous ones and document a remarkable degree of time-invariance. Interpreting HistoVaS variables as a proxy for culture\, we ask whether they help in explaining contemporaneous per capita income differences across countries. The answer is a resounding yes.  \n  \n  \n– Séminaire organisé par le programme 3 / BSE –\n  \n  \n– Voir plus d’événements –\n  \n \n \n  \n
