DESCRIPTION:Séminaire /Workshop organisé par le WP7 d’IPORA\n  \nDamien Girollet et Josias Ouedraogo\n  \nWorkshop WP7 (IPORA)  Normes\, Santé au travail et Performances économiques dans l’Artisanat en Côte d’Ivoire : Montage d’un projet interdisciplinaire\nL’enquête Normes\, Santé au Travail et Performances Economiques dans l’Artisanat a pour objectif d’interroger la manière dont le niveau de conformité aux normes légales des entrepreneurs de l’artisanat affecte leurs vulnérabilités sur leur lieu de travail et leurs dynamiques économiques dans le contexte de la filière de l’entretien et de la réparation de véhicules en Côte d’Ivoire. Né de l’articulation des réflexions issues de trois projets initiés par le WP7 et menés par des juristes\, économistes et socio-anthropologues\, ce projet vise à renforcer son approche interdisciplinaire en intégrant les chercheurs en santé publique et leurs problématiques. Dans ce cadre\, un intérêt particulier est porté aux risques professionnels (accidents et maladies) spécifiques à cette filière\, ainsi qu’aux parcours de soins et de financement adoptés par ces artisans en cas d’accident. DESCRIPTION:Séminaire d’économie de Bordeaux\n  \nMarie Gauthier\n(BSE) \n  \nEnergy labels and property values : a quasi-experimental analysis of the French residential market\n  \nAbstract:\nIn this article\, we examine the impact of a French policy that arbitrarily modified the thresholds used to define property energy labels\, providing a natural experiment to assess the effect of simplified information on agents’ decision-making. In France\, energy labels include information on energy efficiency (EE) through a score expressed in kWhep/m2/year\, which is mapped onto color-coded rating bands (A-G). The arbitrary changes in the definition of these rating bands introduced by the 2021 French reform allow us to apply a difference-in-differences strategy to estimate the causal impact of a letter change on housing prices. Applying this strategy to 1.5 million property transaction between 2013 and 2023\, we provide strong evidence that buyers’ decision-making is significantly influenced by simplified information\, such as letter grades. DESCRIPTION:Séminaire doctorants BSE\n  \nValentin Tissot\n(BSE)  \n  \nSelective Higher Education and Students’ Well-being\n \nAbstract:\nA substantial body of literature highlights the labor market benefits of attending elite higher education\, but less is known about its effects on students’ well-being. In France\, admission to selective tracks (« Higher school preparatory classes ») is determined through a centralized process based on local ranking. Using a regression discontinuity design\, we investigate the impact of scoring just above the cutoff on students’ well-being after enrollment. Using unique survey data\, we find that scoring above the cutoff increases students’ selective track enrollment by 66 percentage points and boosts satisfaction by 0.58 standard deviations for those who enroll. Students in these selective tracks miss fewer classes\, feel more optimistic about their professional future\, and\, despite initial challenges\, report feeling less overworked in subsequent years. They are also less likely to study alone. Boys and students from low socioeconomic backgrounds benefit the most from attending selective tracks.
