Immigration, Emigration and Labor Market Outcomes

The impact of migration on labor market has been the central question in Migration Economics, with a large focus on the effect of immigration on natives’ labor market outcomes. More recent literatures have looked at the impact of emigration on natives in the origin countries or the impact of immigration on other migrants in the destination country. In this paper, we explore the effect of emigration on natives in the destination country. More precisely, we use Spanish administrative data to estimate the impact of immigration and emigration between 2006 and 2016, when important waves of immigration and emigration have been observed in Spain.
