Four essays on the impact of family policies on intra-household decisions and poverty in Latin America
My thesis is orientated to understanding the mechanisms through which family policies modify intrahousehold distribution of resources and expenditures in developing countries, with a specific focus on Latin American countries. For this, I propose four essays that can illustrate different aspects and scopes of this relationship.
Chapter 1: Gender-targeted Policies and Empowerment: Embedding Discontinuities in the Collective Model
Chapter 2: Culture, Intra-household Distribution and Individual Poverty
Chapter 3: International mapping of resource sharing and individual poverty in developing countries.
Chapter 4. Behavioural microsimulation of the distributional effects of care programs in Uruguay. How does the beneficiaries’ allocation matter?
