CONFERENCE

Interdisciplinary symposium
“Standards and international trade. “
.
.
September 28 – 29, 2023
Bordeaux, France
This symposium aims to compare the views of economists, jurists and science managers on the crucial question of standards in international trade. Standards are not only at the center of debates on the liberalization of trade in goods and services, but also at the heart of the global geo-economy where the different normative models compete with each other. The themes of the symposium (not exhaustive) are:
- The effect of standards on international trade (goods and services)
- Standards and Foreign Direct Investments (FDI)
- Standards and development of Global Value Chains (GVCs)
- Standards, fight against climate change and international trade
- Normative competition at the global level
- The production of multi-criteria standards
- Labels and certifications: challenges and limits
- The adaptation of companies to normative competition
Contributions may mobilize a variety of methodological approaches (theoretical and/or empirical, quantitative and/or qualitative, global and/or sectoral, historical).
